Unipol was born at the Khrenovskoy stud farm in Russia and rescued from the race track in 2007. He was a run-down, broken and unhappy little stallion that no one believed was going to survive. Our friend Judith bought him - the last son of her beloved Orlov stallion Proval. With the judicious care and gentle training of long time Russian friends and superlative horsemen, Unipol has blossomed into the kind of horse Orlovs are...a loving individual with athleticism to spare. After having been under saddle for less than a year he placed 5th in an open dressage show. The score for 1st place was 65%, Unipol's score was 63% against older, more experienced horses bred specifically for dressage. Quite a cou for a little Orlov Trotter stallion! He was the first Orlov ever to be entered for judging as a sport horse. He placed 1st with a perfect 10 in free jumping and a 9.8 for quality of movement, all against traditional sport horse breeds. He has been chosen as a preliminary dressage prospect for the 2016 Olympic games.
